My name is Brian Stitzinger and I am asking for assistance in searching for the landing site of my father’s glider. My father F/O Bruce L Stitzinger was with the 437th TCG and flew the Elmira Mission serial 30. He was co-pilot with F/O Willis R. Huckleberry in a Horsa. The ICS was taken from my father. I am researching the above named soldier after coming across him when writing this book; Spirit Of Dartmoor Tin He was photographed on Dartmoor whilst with the US Rangers in 1943 testing ratios for ETO, and I attach the then and now shot of the precise spot.

As far as I can find out, the father of my aunt, Colonel Ralph 'Doc' Eaton, was supposed to be on that glider?
They landed in LZ C of the 101st. iso LZ O. He was transported to a field hospital and later evacuated.
So far I can only find the names of the pilot & co-pilot + the loading manifests... but not the passengers.
Can somebody help me confirm he was on this (or other) glider?

I am wondering if anyone knows of a Dutch researcher named Adrian van Zantvoort. He lives in Gerwen, just east of Eindhoven, NL.
I found a letter Adrian had written in 2005 to my father, Charlie Trainor (Charlie’s church thread). It arrived just after my father died and I presume was “ filed away”…just recently uncovered. Adrian was researching the history of my father’s crash on Sept 19,1944.

I live in one of the houses on the right, further down the road, about where you can see horse behind a Jeep in the background. All photo's taken of this road are taken from pretty much the same location as this one. I would like to know if anybody has ever seen a photo further down the road where our house would be better visible?
We have a lot of war damage still in the house. Bullet holes everywhere, 7 of them in bathroom door.
Road used to be calles Rt de Carentan. Sainte Mere...

Has anyone encountered this situation?

I was looking through my Elmira Horsa Glider thread today and find that a large number of images that I posted from Photobucket have been replaced by a notice from Photobucket advising me to "...update your account to enable 3rd party hosting."
I went to the website www.photobucket.com/p500 as suggested and find that there is a $399 annual fee for the update. Can anyone tell me what is going on?

Is anyone other than me having a problem with the zoom feature on NCAP? I can log on ok, and select an image. But, when I go to use the zoom feature, nothing happens. I've tried a number of times today with no luck. Anyone else?
