It's described as having been near to Tilly-sur-Seulles...

And I wondered - haphazardly if the Tac square might have been originally "yellow"

There seems to be a 52 on one tank and a 54 on another.

Not sure if this picture is well known? I'd expect it to be.

It's a pity that it was not originally better described and referenced but I'd still like to figure out what I can about it if anything is currently known?

Just found this reference on the UK National Archives site to production documents for a Central Office of Information film titled 'By Sea and Land (a Royal Marine patrol in Normandy) 1944'

As far as I can make out, the file does not hold a copy of the actual footage (if indeed the film was ever made).

Anyone know if this film, if made, survives today?

I'm taking family from the US to Normandy for the first time in August and will be focusing on the area behind Omaha beach specifically the 16th Inf Regt, 1st Inf Div area.

Does anyone happen to have maps/photos (any sort) that show the Mosles - Moulagny area? They'd be used to enhance the area I'm trying to show them.

I just received my order from Amazon UK and the book looks very interesting. Lots of the photos covered that I've seen here and elsewhere. What is a little disappointing is that many photos are not 'localized', i.e. there is no description of where they were taken.

But all in all a great book to complement my ever growing collection.
