Hi All, Just found this reference on the UK National Archives site to production documents for a Central Office of Information film titled 'By Sea and Land (a Royal Marine patrol in Normandy) 1944' As far as I can make out, the file does not hold a copy of the actual footage (if indeed the film was ever made). Anyone know if this film, if made, survives today? Thanks, Pat
Hello Pat - I would have thought that the NA has an e-mail address that might answer that sort of query as I am sure that it is not the only item listed that might, or might not, exist. regards Allan
Already in train Allan, I am awaiting a response to an email sent the other day, but I am pretty sure they do not hold the footage itself... if it was made. Never heard of the film before, but the series which the papers are held in, INF 6/ includes documents on such films as 'Letter from Ulster (American troops in Ireland) 1942' (INF 6/347) and many others. The only title I recognise is 'Target for Tonight (raid on Germany) 1941' (INF 6/335). Regards, Pat
