Hi guys, does anyone have the Neptune plans for VII Corps? I do have those for V Corps, but I'm looking for information from the Ordnance annex of the VII Corps plans (not the plans for the individual divisions, but the Corps as a whole). I'm trying to figure out which Ordnance Battalions were involved and the companies in those battalions. I did find some interesting publications but the information they have is rather basic unfortunately. Niels
Thanks for the offer Pat, I was unable to find these documents on Fold3, but it's easy enough to overlook them. I did notice they do have several documents that mention Ordnance Battalions. My main interest would be details on the Ordnance Evacuation Companies (name may differ) and some of the Ordnance Medium Auto Maintenance Companies. The two Ordnance Battalions these companies could have belonged to are probably the 184th and 71st, but that's part of what I'm trying to confirm, so it might point you in the wrong direction. If the VII Corps plans are not at Fold3, it is possible some information can be found in the 'First US Army Report of Operations'. Had some spare time on my hands and found out the overall Neptune plans actually have much of the information I was looking for. I had been assuming the Corps plans would be much more detailed, but a quick comparison with the V Corps records shows few or no differences on this topic. This probably means the same is true for VII Corps. Any way, it seems I answered most of my own questions. ;-) Happy? Yes. Finished? No, this is just the beginning. lol.
