Hi everybody here probably knows the famous photo of Jim Flanigan holding the captured Nazifflag at the Marmion farm. I was wondering if anyone has seen a full identification of the men in that photo. I just checked two Bando books, but nothing more as Flanigan's name. I am pretty sure people here know where the Marmion farm was located. can someone point it out on a map of Google Earth? Hans
It's just south of Ravenoville, where the D15 meets the D14 which runs paralel to the coast. It's the farm complex east of the D14
Hans, The Google Maps link here should bring your readers to the location. I'll keep your quest for names in mind. Regards, Pat
Here's the photo in question. [hr] The short one 2nd from the right as you're looking at it is Gene Cook A/506. I met him in Normandy in 2013 I think.
Hi Hans, Did I see something recently on one of the other Forums (TT?) regarding the two guys 5th and 9th from left in this photo? They don't appear to be paratroopers :s Regards, Pat
Neil, Apologies, your Gene Cook is my 9th from left  Why is his battledress and the guy 5th from left different from the other troopers? Thanks, Pat
Do the same guys appear in other images shot at the farm? I was told that 4th guy grom left is a C-47 crewmember. Can hardly believe that. Thought to have seen all men named on tt forum.
