Whilst reading <a href="https://www.dubraybooks.ie/product/sas-daggers-drawn-9781529413885?srsltid=AfmBOopUZ-TmHqZcwE-pbUYIPgQfeh1UqwSGCQfO5iKRJbZ_b6AS2Asj" target="_blank" class="externalLink" rel="nofollow"><span style="text-decoration: underline"><i>&#039;SAS - Daggers Drawn&#039;</i></span></a> by Damien Lewis recently, I came across a mention of a British Army unit called <b>GHQ Liaison Regiment</b>. Known as &#039;PHANTOM&#039;, the Unit&#039;s Wiki Page is <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GHQ_Liaison_Regiment" target="_blank" class="externalLink" rel="nofollow"><span style="text-decoration: underline">here</span></a>.<br />

Apparently, members of this unit were attached to the SAS...<br />

Those of you following the <a href="http://normandy.whitebeamimages.ie/forum/showthread.php?tid=21" class="internalLink">&#039;<span style="text-decoration: underline">American POWs transit points in Normandy</span>&#039;</a> thread will know that we have located footage of Ian Fleming&#039;s elusive British <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/No._30_Commando" target="_blank" class="externalLink" rel="nofollow"><span style="text-decoration: underline">30 Assault Unit</span></a> as they accompany the American 9th ID into the SW suburbs of Cherbourg. The screenshots used here are taken from footage in Tyler Alberts DVD...<br />

in my research for 453 Squadron in Normandy I have come across an account of a pilot who underwent commando training (as many did).<br />
However his is a very unique case in that he actually went on a raid.<br />
<br />
The source does not give the exact date but it is likely to have been between March and November 1943, which, while outside the scope of the forums, someone might have info about. <br />
<br />
The target was a radar site &quot;near Wissant&quot;. <br />

Can anyone assist in identifying the raid or...<br />

While recently reading &#039;<a href="http://" target="_blank" class="externalLink" rel="nofollow"><span style="text-decoration: underline"><i>Unearthing Churchill&#039;s Secret Army - The Official List of SOE Casualties and Their Stories</i></span></a>&#039; by John Grehan and Martin Mace, I came across an incident which occurred in early July 1944 in which two SOE agents were cornered and killed by the Gestapo somewhere near the village of <b>Pierrefitte-en-Cinglais</b>, Calvados. The exact location is described as a farmhouse in <b>Saint Clair</b>.<br />
