This thread relates to EM3C John D. Casale USNR, KIA 25th September 1944 and buried at Colleville sur Mer American Cemetery, Normandy:
Sean, I done a quick google last night and it turns out he was an Electrician's Mate, 3rd Class and was KIA when his ship, the USS Miantonomah, CM-10, was sunk by a mine while leaving harbour on the 25th September. I found this on the http://navy.togetherweserved.com site just now: The coordinates appear to be located in the mouth of the River Seine. Regards, Pat
