The 434th TCG flew in at least one Clark CA-1 Airborne dozer as part of Mission Chicago but I can't find any information on it's use. Whilst reading the Gen. Pratt crash site thread on the forum tonight, the CG-4A that flew it in may well have landed in the same field.

Does anybody have any further information about which unit operated the dozer and what was it's intended purpose over there? Obstacle clearing of the landing zones?

Oh, and the reason why I'm interested:-

    Hi Neil,
I found this forum for the clark air dozer

and here a forum for construction equipment called smokstak which has some talk about the CA-1 Dozer.

Here is Marple Leaf Up form with a picture from the Dozer.

Here is questmaster web page with some comments

A search in fold3 did not return lots of infos.

Thanks guys. Now I need to find someone who's researched the 326th AEB to see if the dozers are mentioned.

    Hi Neil,

There appears to be a small dozer in the line of vehicles awaiting loading onto the LST in this BP footage (BP Film #1953.10). Still #3 refers.

Not sure if this is the same make/model as the airborne Clark dozer.

    Regards,

    Pat
