Good day. I am searching for any after action reports for the 501st 1st Battalion, A Company for June 6-30, 1944. In particular I am looking for any references for 3rd Platoon Leader Lt. Henry J. Puhalski. Any information would be appreciated. I have exhausted all my limited knowledge/resources and have come up with very little. Thanks.
Hi CGO194, Welcome to the Forum. As a starting point, have you checked the Cornelius Ryan Collection at Ohio State University? Regards, Pat
...also, If you have not already done so, try Shawn Younger's World War II Archives site. Lots of documents there pulled from NARA. Regards, Pat
Pat, I have not been able to access the WWIIArchives.net site for almost the past year. It seemed to have gone down last August. Can someone give it a try to make sure it isn't my computer? anybody know how to contact Shawn Younger? John
Greg, Have you already reviewed the Regimental Unit Studies report about the Fight at the Lock? If not, it can be found on fold3.com here: https://www.fold3.com/image/291874781 Hopefully you will be able to read it, but let us know if you can not. I don't know if you have to be a subscribed member to read it. I assume you have already reviewed the book "Rendezvous With Destiny" By Rapport... John
Hi John, Yes, I forgot about the access issue to Shawn's site and can confirm the same issue with both IE and Firefox. It looks like the browsers are having difficulty gaining the IP address rather than a 'site not found' error. IIRC, I have his email address at home; will check this evening. Regards, Pat
Pat, If you get a response from Shawn, and if he shut his website down can you see if he can make, what I think was called his Documents > Combat Interviews available somehow? John
