I was looking through NCAP this evening to try and find a CG-4A but stumbled upon this frame from Sortie US30/4108 Frame 1132 dated 7th of June 1944.

It shows a large number of parachutes and amongst them is a the letter T made from signal panels. Looks like airborne forces guided in a C-47 resupply.

    Hi Neil,

Did you happen to notice the Glider in the hedgerow just north of all the parachutes?

I missed this one in my map plotting on the forum. I'm thinking it is a Horsa, but can anyone confirm Horsa or Waco?. There may also be the tail of some glider to the right.

John, I think the full sized image you now have on your recent edit of your July 18th post is about as good as it gets. I don't have anything better. I may go ahead and see if I can edit my earlier post to see if I understand how this would be done.

I think this field is where the 52nd Troop Carrier Wing resupply mission the 7th was made, and I think the T is a target marker for that. The original mission plan for this was for the supplies to be dropped at the 508th DZ but this could change based on the situation and that is exactly what happened. I'm yet to find any firm indication of where the Drop Zone for the resupply was changed to but given the situation around that area and weight of fighting centered around the Mederet crossing points, this was the ideal area for a resupply.
