Hi All, I came across this link on Google today pertaining to colour footage shot by Capt. William H. Nation, 508th PIR during the Regiments time at Wollaton Park in Nottingham during the spring of 1944. I vaguely recall somebody mentioning that a paratrooper's family might have some film footage when I was doing a bit on Saint Sauveur le Vicomte on the old Battlebus forum and now suspect this trooper may be Capt. William H. Nation. Can anyone confirm if this is correct and if so, would it be possible to acquire a copy of the footage. Thanks, Pat
A bit of progress... Thanks to Glyn Shipstone on our FB page, I have posted a request on the Jump 44 Living History Group FB page to see if anyone there can direct me to the copyright holder of this footage. This Group has permission to use the footage which Capt. Nation shot in England and is viewable on their site here (bottom of page). I also note stills from the Normandy footage on the 508thpir.org site here and French researcher Michel Le Querrec has a still on his Flickr page here showing a bunker at Wn10, Utah Beach.
