Hello everyone, I have not posted for a while but have the good news that my book (title above) should be released by Echo Books in November this year (2018). It will be print-on-demand, so Amazon and Bookdepository etc will be the best places to get it if you are interested. A question for those who have sold books at the Tilly book fair in June - what are the logistics of this and was it worth it? I have been a few times as a customer and found that it was quite good, but what about the other side of the fence? I will definitely be in Normandy for the 75th anniversary next year and was thinking that it might be worth it. Any thoughts or comments are welcome, or you can email if you prefer thunderchief092 at gmail dot com
As I am currently studying the RCAF Spitfire and Typhoon Squadrons that served in Normandy, I will definitely be acquiring your book in the fall. When you say, print on demand, does this mean an actual hard copy, or electronic? Stephen
Hi Stephen - that's great news - thank you. Print on demand (for my book at least) means that when you order from Amazon etc they will print from a location near you (UK for orders there, USA for orders there, Australia for orders here - saving on shipping for everyone) and send it. An electronic book has been considered but would be another massive cost to me, so I might be skipping that option.
Delighted to hear this Adam, Count me in as a customer also. What is the title? Have you a link to a pre-order page which I can post on our FB site? Regards, Pat
Hello Pat, Thanks for your support (as always). The title is the thread title: Ready to Strike - The Spitfires and Australians of 453 (RAAF) Squadron Over Normandy This can be simplified to Ready to Strike, which is the squadron motto. Hopefully any google searches for combinations of 453, Normandy, Spitfire etc will take them to the book once the site is set up by the publisher. The publisher is currently assembling my proposed cover design and the layout. When they have a link ready I'll be sending it out all over the place, here included.
And now the webpage is ready Ready to Strike – Echo Books There is a link you can click on which will prompt the publisher to add you to a bulk email list for when the book is ready.
And now it's ready! Orders can be placed via the weblinks on the page or direct via those same sites. Ready to Strike – Echo Books Hope you like it!
