This thread relates to PFC Martin B. Murphy, 325th Glider Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division, KIA 6th June 1944 and buried at Colleville sur Mer American Cemetery, Normandy:
Hi Boscof, Another 82nd Airborne site has him listed as E Company, which makes him 2nd Battalion. They list his date of death as June 6th, but they came in by glider to LZ 'W' at 9:00am on June 7th as part of mission Hackensack. One possibility is that the date of his death is wrong, but I don't know why. John
John thanks for the excellent information. I've ordered his records from the National Personnel Records Center and hope to find out more soon. If they got the date of his death wrong, that's a big deal. Thanks again, I'm going to keep looking into it.
