Hello Rob Being Wikipedia don't believe all you read - for example on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Advanced_Landing_Ground for Y.32 Ophoven it states: Y-32 Ophoven, Belgium Located: 51°08′08″N 005°47′00″E (abandoned) Opened: 10 December 1944 Closed: 29 May 1945Runway: 5000x150, PSP, (12/30) [1]Used by:[5] 370th Fighter Group, 27 January – 20 April 1945 (P-47)405th Fighter Group, – 30 February April 1945 (P-47) However, the first occupants were the RAF - 125 Wing 83 Group - with 41 Squadron RAF, 350 (Belgian) Squadron RAF, 130 (Punjab) Squadron RAF and 610 (County of Chester) Squadron Auxiliary Air Force, who arrived 31 December 1944, and moved out just before the 370th Fighter Group moved in, moving to B.78 Eindhoven. But then again, as I wrote above, this is Wikipedia! Regards Allan
I just got back from NARA at College Park and have some ALGs under construction shots and a couple of aerial views of ALG-1. Especially ones with the unique tree lines that Pat loves to figure out. I will post them this weekend.
