Hello everyone. Glad to be a new member. My name is Jason and I am from Texas. I have no one related to me who fought in Normandy but I do have several relatives who served in WWII. I enjoy learning about WWII history and specifically D-Day! Last year I visit Normandy and havent stopped trying to learn more. I have been very fortunate to speak with a few D-Day veterans and the experience has been incredible. I look forward to learning more from the members here and hopefully will be able to contribute from time to time.
Good to have you with us, Jason. As you look through the various topics that have been researched here, and read the threads, you will find that many of the website members have a great deal of knowledge on a variety of WW2 subjects, and are able to point you to a number of resources for your own research. D-Day is certainly a topic that has received a great deal of attention. Welcome to the website. Charles

Hi Jason Welcome to Whitebeam - if any of those D-Day veterans you met have put their stories to print, or if you have anything from them, please feel free to pass that information on. Regards Allan
I have currently been talking with a veteran from the 29th who landed on D-Day and fought to the end of the war. He was awarded 3 purple hearts, bronze star, and a silver star. He has the most amazing stories. I hope to put them together and write something in regards to his experience. I am currently working with the local Consul General of France in obtaining him the French Legion of Honor. Thank you all for the welcomes.
