I plotted most over the period maps They are quite large some 6000 x 4000 and around 8 mb jpg/60 mb TIF. I did all the UK sector down to just over The Orne and TOTALIZE down the road from Caen . The area of BLUECOAT is very poorly covered by NCAP .[IMG]

The more I look at the image of the aircraft wreckage, the more I am inclined to think that it is the starboard wing section of a B-26. Either way, it looks well weather beaten which makes me wonder, when where the two tanks recovered?

Anyone know the date of this 'Ballymena' group photo?

I am wondering if its the object within the yellow square below from IGN cover flown in October 1945...

Trying to tie the treeline in these two photos...

The pylon is in the next field...question is though - how many hedgerows between the foreground field and the treeline?

    Just thinking out loud...

    Thanks Michael,

Can't see it from my work PC, but will view tonight.

What do you make of the vehicle in the 1945 IGN cover?

    Thanks,

    Pat

I like the empty bottle of Johnny Walker being used as a prop when pushing back the Nebelwerfer.

Difficult to say for certain but it looks like this tank is there in Aug 1944. The aircraft wreckage is not there to the right of the tank.

The Tiger II turret is not fore-and-aft but turned to its LH side. The 1945 air view tank turret does not appear to be rotated.

Is that tank not too close to the road to be the one in question?
