    RE: Recon Sortie US7GR_1746 [06-JUN-1944]

Pat, thanks for the suggestion, but...

I must be doing something wrong. When I do a search on NCAP for Omaha beach lower Normandy, I get the usual presentation of a number of images to view. In this case there are 48 frames. I can download the kml for this group, but I don't see any indication of a zip file, and I think there should be more frames. What am I missing here?

    Hi Charles,

Not all the frames in my screenshot use the keywords 'Omaha Beach' - by including these two key words, you are excluding all frames which are not tagged with them, even frames which are quite close to the beach which may only be tagged with say the keyword 'Colleville'. This is why certain frames are not showing up in your search result. Leave out any reference to Omaha Beach and just use the term 'Lower Normandy' (excluding the two apostrophes) which is used in all frames from that region of France.

This search will result in 11,288 frames matching the two keywords 'Lower Normandy' The resulting kmz file will look like this when zoomed out:

    [/align]

    Hope this helps,

    Pat

    Hi All,

I received an email from Kevin in NCAP this afternoon informing us that they have now completed uploading the new locations for all 'un-locatable' frames in sortie 1746. The complete set of 268 frames in the archive can now be viewed here, all with their locations tagged.

Our Whitebeam Gallery on the NCAP site requires work by their designers before all our 123 trophies can be displayed. Through my NCAP account I have moved all 123 'trophies' into the 'draft' Gallery from the 'favorites' folder, but due to a glitch in the site, it does not show more than 32. Hopefully this problem will be sorted in the near future.

    Regards,

    Pat
